Karen O'Brien is a self taught mixed media artist and teacher. She lives and makes art in rural Oregon in her "Golden Rule Studio."  Karen likes to call her art an evolution of "mixed - up" media. In addition to painting and collage, she has a love for creating with fabric and all things vintage.  Karen's work now includes mixed media acrylic painting, collage, assemblage pieces, teddy bears and dolls with a nostalgic, whimsical feel. She also teaches acrylic painting and mixed media workshops at various locations and art retreats. Her continuing journey is to explore the path of intuitive art, listening to the voice within to learn, create and share what she finds.
