Artfest 2009: Myth and Mystery

Enter the land of mystery and imagination for a day for creative play. In this class we bring to life mythical creatures on mysterious, textural backgrounds. We will wake up our artistic intuition and creative vision with some fun exercises, crafting mythical creatures using a blend of collage, texture and paint. Each student will be encouraged to work on 2 paintings at the same time and should have 2 complete, or nearly complete pieces of art at the end of the day.

Artfest 2009: Block Party

On a trip to Chicago, I was introduced to my first Art-O-Mat vending machiene. The Art-O-Mat is a reconditioned cigarette machine filled with original pieces of art the size of a cigarette package - affordable, accessible to everyone and portable! We will work on the concept of making our own version of "vending" art on wood blocks. Let's have some fun on this smaller scale while learning some cool collage, transfer and painting techniques.
